I must express my unease regarding the current direction of the proposed plan for tree-lined streets and natural features. Although this approach sounds scientifically sound, we must not overlook the risks associated with invasive species that might have detrimental impacts on local ecology. These trees could inadvertently attract unwanted pests or plants that flourish at the expense of our native flora. Furthermore, I feel that increasing tree coverage might hinder sunlight to nearby residential areas, leading to an inverse effect on the overall environment. A detailed ecological impact report on both native and non-native tree species is needed alongside this plan, ensuring that we protect our native species while still aiming for sustainability.
