The Local Plan conveys a sense of urgency and growth without sufficient regard for the impact it may have on the surrounding communities. Many areas earmarked for development are currently residential, and it is vital to consider how increasing density in these areas will affect the character of our neighbourhoods and infrastructures, such as schools and parks. While growth can be beneficial, it should not come at the cost of the existing quality of life in our neighbourhoods. It seems like a careless rush to development, disregarding long-term sustainability and community integrity.
