The housing pressures faced by our district demand immediate and innovative solutions. I am keen to see brownfield sites being optimally used, particularly given their potential to limit the negative impact on our Green Belt. It’s disheartening to learn that many large-scale opportunities are isolated or may disrupt existing businesses. However, the council’s windfall allowance for smaller sites is a smart move and should be capitalised upon. Even minor developments can lead to a significant increase in our housing stock over time. I urge the council to remain open-minded about the small-scale opportunities available, as each one plays a vital role in the bigger picture of our community’s future and well-being.
